The popular belief that “the customer is always right” shouldn’t be taken with a grain of salt, primarily since the same people have used this as an excuse to get away with their awful behavior. Whether it’s at a grocery store or restaurant, the customer-facing staff are often left with no choice but to shrug it off and go on with their day.
Fortunately, these unsung heroes still have a bit of humor left in them as they gathered the “receipts” left behind by their unruly patrons and decided to make them public. Maybe this will give their customers something to think about! While most of these photos are funny and downright entertaining, it might be better to go through the entire list to experience a chuckle-worthy scenario.
Defrosting Raw Chicken
Superstores don’t have sitting spaces because the management usually doesn’t want people crowding the place; they should shop and move along. While that sounds logical, we also understand that older people might feel the need to rest, but this gentleman went too far – he is sitting on the food!
Maybe he’s just enjoying the icy winds from the open fridge, but the chicken is quite literally defrosting in the process. We must admit we don’t appreciate this behavior. The guy could have asked the staff to arrange a chair for him, but no! Perhaps now the grocery store might reconsider their no-seating available policy.
No Trying Please
Everyone wants to invest in suitable products for their pets. The simple way to do that is conducting thorough research about available brands, what they offer, and what other consumers say about their experience. Yet, it seems like some people just want shortcuts in life.
This pet owner walked into the store with their furry friend, tested a self-cleaning slicker brush on the animal, and put it back in the rack. Even if it’s not written anywhere, it’s common sense that no one is supposed to try such a product before purchasing it- that is a universal rule all shoppers should know!
Common Sense Isn’t That Common
Isn’t it nice to eat in a restaurant; we don’t have to think about anything but enjoying our time. We don’t even have to clear the table after the meal. Of course, we always pay for the services, but it’s also important to be polite to the servers who work hard to ensure we have a pleasant dining experience.
Sadly, people at this table seemed unaware of that basic concept. In return for the serving staff’s hospitality, they left a used nappy in the tray for them to pick up. Cleaning up after a meal might be their job, but no one has the right to do something like this.
While we’re on the subject of hygiene, it’s hard to believe such customer behavior even exists. Who licks ice cream they don’t intend to buy? No wonder contagious illnesses are on the rise. If anyone wants to taste an ice cream before purchasing it, they should try going to gourmet cafes offering free samples.
This store owner just wanted to offer his customers a seamless shopping experience by providing them open access to the refrigerator. Yet, some people knew how to test his patience while also ruining things for everyone else. Thankfully the cashier caught the absurdity on camera and they found a solution for keeping the frozen desserts safe!
No Second Chances
Some might find this signboard a bit impolite, but honestly, it is pretty essential to establish boundaries so that no one takes the establishment for granted. This store owner loves their business and doesn’t want a repeat episode of what their previous customers did.
Some customers’ children treated the shop like a playground, and now all kids’ entry is prohibited. This owner doesn’t believe in giving second chances, it seems. Understandably so, it’s a pet store; any reckless behavior could jeopardize an innocent animal’s wellbeing or worse. We hope all the creatures were alright despite the mess.
Piece By Piece
Some customers either think that store owners don’t have brains or believe it is too easy to dupe others, but such assumptions are always incorrect. This individual bought some fruit, went home, and then changed their mind about the purchase.
So they thought of getting a refund in exchange for an already sliced mango by piecing it back together with some scotch tape. While the audacity and sheer nerve of this customer seem exceptional, this is hilarious too. Even a third-grader wouldn’t accept that as a fair return, let alone a professional seller!
A Childish Mess
Remember how we talked about being kind to workers at foodcourts? It seems like there should be a chapter on dining etiquette in school textbooks, too, because apparently, some students are still unaware of the concept. It looks like some kids left behind this mess who probably think they’re too cool to clean up after themselves.
Moreover, putting a few tissue papers on spilled soda was of no use either. It only added to the overall mess. We feel bad for the person who had to clean the area all over again- Certainly, not a very good start to their day!
It’s Only Fair
Here’s another signboard that will undoubtedly catch some attention, and we must admit, that is a very fair rule. Especially ever since the whole world has experienced a pandemic, hygiene practices have really come into question lately, and rightfully so!
Yet what’s more surprising is that people still keep money in all the places mentioned on the board! Moreover, how do they even take it out in crowded stores from, say, their underpants or socks – that’s preposterous! For the sake of this business owner, we sincerely hope their customers stopped engaging in this unhygienic practice.
Real-Life Grand Theft Auto
Unfortunately, shoplifting remains a fairly common practice in many parts of the world. No, this individual didn’t steal an actual automobile. They just stole a toy car, but hey, it still counts as theft. Here’s hoping the staff wasn’t charged for this missing item from their salary because they didn’t notice this happening.
With that said, we can’t help but take a moment to appreciate the sarcasm of this little crook. We understand the cheeky humor may not have appealed to the store owner, but it’s hard not to chuckle over the fact that it’s a toy police car that’s gotten stolen.
It looks like this customer didn’t want to tip after their meal anyway and found an easy way to blame the staff for not deserving any. Their reason is the missing 83¢ their server failed to return with the bill. Not only did they walk out without leaving a tip, but they took the time to leave a rude note!
Tips are a substantial part of servers’ income. That’s why it’s even mandatory practice in many countries. Still, some people are stubborn beyond imagining. This customer had their meal but still spoiled someone else’s day when they could have simply asked for the missing change.

While out grocery shopping, people often load up their carts with items they decide not to buy only minutes later. Yet, how many make the extra effort to return those things to their original storage spots? Perhaps, only those few individuals who may have worked in retail.
In all honesty, most of us leave unwanted products on the first shelf we can find. Yet, in this case, someone dumped a pack of frozen raw chicken right in the middle of wafers, cookies, and pies. Naturally, it got even worse when the meat began defrosting all over the other products and even the floor. That’s both messy and unhygienic!
Some people’s behavior is just beyond our comprehension, and this is undeniably one such case! It is common knowledge that service industry workers often earn pretty low wages. So as a bonus, they supplement their income with a percentage of the customers’ bills, what we call a tip!
Apparently, this female shopper could not care less about the plight of underpaid employees. She decided to help herself to the entire jar of tips on her way out! Honestly, printing the CCTV footage so everyone can see the culprit from then onwards was a stroke of genius on the management’s part.
A ‘Wall of Shame’ Mystery
Getting their consumers’ feedback is essential for any supermarket’s future development, and many businesses are aware of that. On the other hand, this enterprise’s confession board, for employees to note down their customers’ shopping experiences, is both brilliant and hilarious!
Now, customer and employee interactions can sometimes get heated. With that said, we’re wondering what it took for anyone to throw a chicken at another person. It looks like tempers flared at the workplace on that day, and we only wish we had more details about the exchange. One thing’s for sure; this note is absolutely worthy of being on their ‘Wall of Shame’!
A Little Common Courtesy
We know creating a mess in public spaces has become an incurable habit for some people. Clearly, leaving a messy heap of garments in clothing stores, littering movie theatre floors with popcorn, and messing up public washrooms with spitballs don’t make them feel guilty. Talk about ditching basic childhood lessons on cleanliness!
Balling up wet tissues to hurl around in a toilet can be fun for some folks. Yet, we highly recommend practicing this kind of messy sport only in one’s own dwelling. The staff at public restrooms has better things to do in life than tidying up toilets all day! A little common courtesy goes a long way.
Badly-behaved customers will do what they do; they’re usually not thinking about anyone except themselves. Still, sometimes, just taking a few extra seconds to do something right saves someone else a lot of hardship. Someone should explain that to the apathetic customers who left their carts towering in this uncivilized manner!
Didn’t they think about the impending mishap these shopping baskets can create if that tower crashes down? Perhaps they did and couldn’t care less, assuming that the staff is responsible for clearing their mess. It’s high time we realize that the employees are pretty busy and already have many other duties. Let’s not add more hurdles to their day!
In many countries, the foodservice industry offers its employees a meager wage that’s sometimes insufficient even to make ends meet. That’s why tipping culture is quite prevalent across the globe. 20% is the standard US rate, whereas it ranges from 15-20% in the UK, and in Australia, tippers leave around 10% of the bill.
Here we have an awful customer who managed to leave an amount of only 1¢ for the staff. What a shame! They may have saved a few dollars, but that money could’ve made a real difference in their server’s monthly income. We are all for the occasional penny-pinching, but not like this.
Seriously Not Acceptable
We highly recommend anger management classes to those people who find venting their rage on service staff as acceptable behavior. It’s deeply upsetting to see this waitress who had to deal with an angry client. Covered in food and drinks, the poor lady is in a deplorable state and visibly shaken by the horrible experience.
Someone needs to teach such customers a lesson. Service staffers are also human and deserve kinder treatment than this! Also, it’s unfair to take advantage of the fact that they won’t defend themselves publicly. Although we don’t know whether the lady pressed charges against him, let’s hope she did and taught them a lesson.
One doesn’t have to be Monica from Friends to shudder at the utter disaster this picture has captured. Not even a flash sale with 90% off explains the state of this Forever 21 store. Was there no one handling the floor? Although who has the guts to face crazy shoppers jostling to get all the great bargains for themselves.
We’re certainly wondering if the ladies who wreaked havoc in this store expect any discipline from their kids back home. Our sympathies are with the staff and management who probably spent their after-hours till late into the night cleaning after their unruly customers.
Tipping In Words
After a hard day waiting on customers with their moods and unending demands, the last thing any server needs is a written excuse for a tip instead of cash. While we understand the financial pressures of being a single mum needing a constant supply of diapers, we can only frown at an unnecessary confession like this one.
What good does an excuse do to her or the restaurant staff, anyways? We get that the guilt of not affording a meager tip of under $3 could have compelled the guest to leave a note as an apology. Yet, perhaps not dining out in the first place would be a better option.
Thieves top the list of terrible customers by a mile. It’s common to find a shoplifter pocketing random things from a store and walking off without paying. For instance, the guy from this series of pictures has stolen a banner, of all things, not knowing he would get publicly exposed for it soon enough.
The management found an ingenious way to make this miscreant pay. They put up a series of CCTV footage screenshots of him stealing the banner. This brilliant idea is perfect for dissuading anyone else from trying to get away with leaving the store without paying for goods in the future.
Woah! Whose idea was it to test paint the spray cans on the floor? Also, why would the subsequent customers follow suit and do the same? It looks like they had some good fun with them as well. Sadly the same cannot be said for the staff who would have cleaned up the mess.
People test out new pens on a sheet of paper or a notepad at the stationary aisle before buying them. Similarly, here the canvas seems to be on the floor by default unless the management comes up with an alternative like a temporary wall for the potential buyers to unleash their artistic talent.
Boo, that’s harsh! There’s a saying that we should rather not say anything than saying something hurtful. Yet some people do so without putting themselves in the other’s shoes. Yes, we agree that sometimes service at restaurants isn’t at par with our expectations and unfortunately a few are worse.
Then it’s okay for the customers not to tip them for their service. What’s not is leaving hurtful personal comments like this one. It’s unsavory and uncalled for to verbally attack someone, especially on a long and hard day at work. We don’t know what they’ve been through, and maybe they can do with a kind word or two instead.
Someone’s local gas station happens to be a regular revolving door for disagreeable customers. They would instead not have them revisit the place. So, some intelligent employees came up with this brilliant idea to take a pic of each terrible client and stick them on their door with specific reasons for banning them.
Kudos to the person who came up with this because it also makes the rest of the customers watch their behavior inside the store. The decent folk would never want their pics adorning the doors and windows of a public place. It’d be too embarrassing for them if they did.
Thrift Shop In Disarray
Looking at the chaotic state of the thrift store, it suddenly seems like a costly affair to allow the kids to browse through the toys. It seems like a hundred children high on sugar were let loose inside the shop without adult supervision. Assuming the tiny tots were accompanied by their moms or guardians, this is truly unacceptable behavior.
Impossible as that sounds, the utter disrespect for space, the toys, and the staff are disappointing. To think that it would’ve hardly taken a few mins to keep the toys each child has played with during the visit makes it even more painful to watch.
Oh! This is a first! Has anyone ever seen a negative tip on a check? Well, here’s such a case, crystal clear! We’ve seen angry and hurtful words written by disgruntled customers. Some have even left excuses for not paying for the service received, but this one takes the entire cake for being the weird one out of the lot.
Not to mention, it’s illegal to deduct an amount from the bill in the place of adding a tip on the check. We wonder what kind of behavior by the restaurant staff riled the customer so much that he’d resort to penalizing them with cash.
Feet Off, Please!
This guy seems to be taking the advice to “feel at home” literally while at this coffee shop. He did not just raise his feet; he even took off his socks and shoes! This scenario is not good in so many ways, especially in the time of a pandemic.
There’s a possibility he could bring home the virus because, unlike the hands, people don’t usually spray sanitizer or alcohol on one’s legs! Raising one’s feet now and then is good for the health, but do it at home, or at least keep the shoes on!
It’s A ‘Tip’ Game
This customer’s rudeness is on another level, and we can say it isn’t very kind. We have no idea if the person who did this had a grudge on the restaurant employee who served their food or they were just trippin’.
Nevertheless, if a food server shows an attitude, the best way to approach it is to talk to them or their supervisors. There’s a saying that advises people to always be kind because one doesn’t know what another person’s going through – it’s better to keep this attitude than to always be vengeful.
What Happened To Sharing Is Caring?
If “tithing” is an unfamiliar word, let us just explain what it is; it’s a person’s contribution to a religious organization they belong to. Typically it’s ten percent of a person’s earning that’s given to one’s church, with the belief that it’s for God.
This person wasn’t too happy to give their food server eighteen percent of their meal’s amount when they only give God ten percent. This seemingly self-righteous person must have forgotten the Christian way of giving to the less fortunate and sharing one’s blessings wholeheartedly. Eighteen percent of a meal amount cannot be compared to ten percent of one’s salary anyway, right?
Give Back The Keys!
Instead of being rude, it’s better to call whoever did this a burglar; because one’s not a customer unless they pay for something. Also, instead of calling the individual a downright thief, they are likely only a minor who spends a lot of time playing games on a computer.
True gamers would know those sets of keys are used frequently. Perhaps mom and dad didn’t give the kid money to buy a new keyboard, so instead, they shoplifted a few keys from this shop. Some can get a laugh from this, but definitely not the employee assigned to this area.
Doing The Grocery A Favor
This lady may have forgotten she’s at the grocery store for a moment and treated its vegetable section like her own refrigerator. She’s taking the top off the lettuces, the part that’s usually the first one to turn yellow or brown.
Although, dumping the decaying leaves on the floor was clearly rude, she’s doing the store some good, too. Since she removed the old outer part, the lettuces would have looked fresh and new again. So, it’s very likely the lettuces left ended up getting purchased, all thanks to her and her Cheeky actions!
Don’t Eat Out If On A Budget
The food staff who posted this did not intend to shame, but rather to point out that the cheap customer wasn’t the only one on a budget. Giving a tip to food servers has been the norm, mainly because the money employees get from there is basically part of their minimum wage salary.
Now, we understand that some people do not have enough money for food, let alone for giving tips. If that’s the case, the wise choice is to cook food at home instead of dining out. Restaurant staff functions by enhancing customers’ dining experience, so they deserve to be appreciated for that.
Store Sale Chaos
The manners of people completely go out the window when there’s a store sale. Some would even end up fighting for the last items left on shelves! When there’s a sale going on, it’s entirely understandable for customers to make a mess trying on clothes, and in this instance, shoes.
It’s a completely different ballgame when it’s a typical day at the store, and no prices are being slashed off. The shoppers who intentionally disarrange the clothes on racks and shoes on shelves are so rude because it’s not hard to hand over the tried-on outfits and shoes to store clerks.
Foolish Polish Moves
We wonder what was going on in the mind of whoever that did this. What pushed them to perform such foolish actions, and to what end? We guess they did not have anything else to do with their time and were just plain bored.
They also probably wanted to buy this but didn’t have enough money and thought that if they can’t have them, no one can! The mess left behind has to be cleaned by the innocent store clerks, plus it’s now spoiled for shoppers interested in buying those colors.
Tip Is Much Preferred
There is self-confident, then there’s overconfident, and this guy surely falls on the latter. Who would think a phone number is better than getting a tip? Obviously, it’s this one, but unless he left his number to give the food staff a better-paying job, then he’s mistaken.
The restaurant employee made her point clear by posting this with the caption that it’s a no for her. It’s a big “No!” for us, too! One should not forego giving a tip if they decide to eat out anyway. The guy in the black eastern hoodie must turn red every time he sees this silly note he made online.

Grocery store shopping can sometimes be stressful because some people do not observe “grocery cart etiquette.” The guidelines apply when a shopper enters the store and gets a cart up to the point they leave them at the parking lot.
Yes, that’s right, even when one’s over grocery shopping, there’s still a proper way to leave shopping carts behind. Because if rules are not followed, and they aren’t placed in their “corrals,” something like this could happen. The handicap parking area is created to make the lives of differently-abled people easier; clearly, the people who had done this don’t understand the purpose.
Opportunity Or Warning?
Stealing religious artifacts is more of a deviant move, but it’s a fact that some customers don’t seem to care about either sin or virtue. This store that sells beautiful Buddha statues had to experience dreadful theft by people claiming to enter the place as customers.
The management here tries to emphasize the wrath of karma if someone takes them away without paying the set price. A smarter thief might receive a whole other message from this, though. Does it mean the store lacks security that only Buddha would know and deprive them of blessings?
A LIfe Altering Tip
This customer found an exciting way to share the literal “tip of success” instead of some bucks. Was the person at the receiving end amused or agitated? Rather than supporting or encouraging the efforts of a waiter by adding up a few dollars, this guy suggests a website to grow professionally.
It seems like the dad inside that person couldn’t suppress the urge to make the comment much like a failed comedian trying to crack jokes on every opportunity. Still, one should be gracious enough to spend some bills on the waiting staff instead of acting witty or having a laugh at their expense.
Adding Cents of Insult To Injury
Leaving just a few good-for-nothing coins with a cruel note determining a person and their services as worthless must be banned by law. Why can’t customers leave a reasonable sum and appreciate the assistance of those plating for them without being petty?
Here, it’s terrible to see this feedback on a paper napkin, where someone went to a rude extent and composed a comment making the whole staff feel awful. By using mere 4 cents to reward was harsh enough, let alone the pepper spray of words. Also, maybe that was a reaction to an equally crude behavior from the person waiting at the table; who knows.

Besides, defining normalcy is certainly not the job of a person who writes notes instead of tipping a waitress. We think it’s indeed insane to judge someone who looks so gorgeous. It’s high time this individual receives some updates about the new hair colors on trend.

Sharing some conventional phrases as good wishes are not a great idea as the world is changing and people are pretty unpredictable. This poor guy lost a tip and scored a point on irritating customers by extending a harmless wish a little too much during the serving process.
The customer had the meal without uttering a single word and waited until it’s time to pay, and left nothing as the tip. Instead, there was a note that may have left the waiter dumbfounded for a few minutes. On the other hand, there was no religious intention involved in the kind words as those can be sly.

Either shop employees realize more than we think, or shoplifters aren’t as sly as they believe. Most employees will notice someone stealing something. Yet, they have learned to pick their battles. Also, there is surprisingly little to no training on what to do in that kind of situation.
Stealing something is already cheeky enough, and in an even cheekier act, one customer swapped out one of their old bras for a new one! We can’t even begin to imagine the look on the employees’ faces when they found someone’s used underwear in the change room.
A Terrible Tip With A Side Of Sarcasm
It is almost more disrespectful to get a small tip than no tip at all. Especially when the situation was out of a waiter’s control. Unless one has served in a restaurant, they won’t understand how restaurants work. They also can’t comprehend how hard being a waiter really is. Snotty customers are often the least of these people’s concerns.
This one customer left a 0.02$ tip and a snarky remark about the chefs not cooking fast enough. Believe it or not, servers have no say over what happens in the kitchen. So why punish them when it wasn’t even their fault?
When Things Get Messy
It is one thing to make an absolute mess when at a restaurant. It is another thing to then hide the server’s tip in that mess. We struggle to understand what a person may find funny about this. If anyone knows, please don’t hesitate to tell us.
One customer went a step further. They took the tip and placed it in a glass of water. Oh but, the glass wasn’t only filled with water. It had mushed up leftover food in it too. Fishing through this filth to find a disappointing tip is just demeaning.
Is It A Fake Job Then?
Imagine someone going to a restaurant, and they get asked to take their own order and fetch their own food. People would be outraged! So why be condescending to an honest and hard-working person trying to make a living?
If “get a real job” is the tip a person leaves for their server, then we have a tip for them: maybe don’t go out to eat? Or better yet, eat at home. If one doesn’t have anything nice to say, then they should rather say nothing at all.
Not Part Of The Inventory
Sometimes a person can find themselves suddenly and desperately needing the bathroom. We have all been there. Yet, most of us have learned to hold it in. At least until the nearest bathroom becomes available. What if there is an unusually long line for the toilet, though? Or no washroom in our sight?
No matter how desperate, one thing we wouldn’t do is relieve ourselves in a jug (or any other product) in a store. Surely there is a better option than that? Worse than the actual act itself, the customer left it there for somebody else to find. Yikes!
The Sign Says It All
It seems this restaurant has had enough of troublesome customers as their establishment is filled with huge signs with questionable rules. We can only imagine how much partying occurs here at night too, and since one of the posters mentioned a tent pole being used as a makeshift dancing partner, it must be over the roof!
Of course, these placards are still not an assurance their patrons would follow suit, yet it’s always a good idea to play by the rules if one doesn’t want to get kicked out. Let’s just hope no more fathers would get disappointed this time.
Bring A Baby To The Bar Day
Parents never get a day off from being one, so seeing this mom bring her child to a bar gave us some mixed emotions. Nobody wants to tag their baby along to a place like this, but there’s a high chance they lucked out on hiring a babysitter on the only day she and her husband can unwind.
Just look at that adorable little girl – she’s having the time of her life playing with the drink taps when she should already be in bed. Nevertheless, it’s not easy to juggle parenthood and a little R&R, so who are we to judge!
The Reviewer Who Cried Wolf
When a new restaurant opens in town, most folks rely on firsthand reviews to see whether the place is worth a visit. So, whenever some bad feedback comes up, owners do what they can to investigate and get to the bottom of things.
Unfortunately, there’s always bound to be a fake review sneaked in somewhere, just like what happened in this picture. This woman would habitually lie about her experience for reasons unknown, but she finally met her match when the restaurateur caught her red-handed, thanks to the bogus photo uploaded. It goes to show one shouldn’t mess with other people’s business for the heck of it!
Board Games For The Bored
Not many food establishments offer a little extra something to keep their customers happy, so when this cafe began to offer free board games for their regular patrons, they assumed this would boost their sales and shop traffic. It sounds like a good marketing plan, right?
Sadly, what happened was the complete opposite. Not only did their clients destroy the games, but they also made one huge mess. Naturally, the shop owners expressed their disappointment, and it’s likely the freebies will be pulled out. Oh well, this is why we can’t have nice things, people!
