Raise your hand if you grew up watching Lindsay Lohan in films like Herbie: Fully Loaded or Parent Trap. For sure you became sad when she exited the spotlight following a series of controversies that stemmed from her disturbing attitude.
However, a piece of good news may be in the offing — that is, if her plans for this 2020 materialize. When asked about her plans for the new year, the 33-year-old who is now in Muscat, Oman, shared that she will be coming back to her home country to focus on making films and music.
You would see her next on March 5 on the big screen as a cast of Among The Shadows, the first feature she has done since The Canyons in 2013. Lindsay also explained that she would be releasing a song after New Year when Andy Cohen prodded her for a track.
Meanwhile, this was hardly the first time the former Disney child star has hinted that she will be coming back to show business. In December, she shared a photo from a 2006 W Magazine feature of her and multi-award-winning actress Meryl Streep, whom she shared the screen in A Prairie Companion.
In the interview, the younger actress expressed how much in awe she was of the veteran star and how she aspires to be looked up to as Meryl instead of having a party girl image.
Indeed, Lindsay’s repeated run-ins with the law partnered with controversial decisions led to her downfall. Starting as a child star in Parent Trap, where she showed that she had an undeniable talent at such a young age, she easily became one of the most sought after teen.
The success of her portrayal as twins gave her more projects that cemented her status as a promising teen actress. Some of her film credits involve Confessions of a Drama Queen, Freaky Friday, and the ever-iconic Mean Girls that has crossed generations to become Ariana Grande’s inspiration for the music video of Thank U, Next.
While her career had taken off, so was the controversies, which usually involved brushes with authorities. As such, Lindsay never left tabloid headlines and had entered rehab facilities multiple times already.
Now, Lindsay will try to make it big in the industry again after unsuccessful attempts. A decade ago, the celebrity gave a shot at her redemption, although how she acted on the set of her 2013 film didn’t seem she was ready for a comeback.
