If a woman aspires to lose weight, she has certain objectives and goals in mind. The foremost among them is being physically sound. However, the reason behind losing weight was varyingly different for the Senior Year star, Rebel Wilson.
In her latest interview with the New York Times, the actress opens up about how overweight she was. And how her fertility doctor motivated her to lose weight. “He (referring to her fertility doctor) looked at me and said: ‘You will be a lot different if you lose weight. So will be your baby.’ This was the moment when I thought that this doctor was being rude,” Ms. Wilson tells the New York Times.
She goes on to say: “I thought to myself: How on earth can a doctor be so rude – as it annoyed me in depth. But, later on, I figured out that this guy was right. I will have to lose weight if I want a healthier body and baby.” Furthermore, the actress acknowledges that she has been “careless with herself” confessing that she will have to do it for the baby. “The future of our baby inspired me to do something about my excessive weight,” she notes. “I am grateful to the doc who put a new perspective to my bodily overweight and inspired me to be healthier – both for myself and the child.”
The Objective Paid Off in Style
Following the advice of her fertility doctor, Rebel committed to losing weight. “I had a number of weight loss ideas in mind – as my grand objective. After spending the whole year (2022,) I lost over 85 lbs, which was a good number given my carelessness.”
Nonetheless, she affirms that it was not the numbers that mattered to her. Rather, it was the idea of becoming the healthiest version of herself. The 42-year-old also asserts it was by no means an easy journey. “I had to deal with my emotional eating habits – which is by far the most difficult thing for me. But, if I have achieved that, I think it is because of the unwavering objective that I had.”
The Senior Year Star Needed An Emotional Support
Moving forward with the interview, Wilson reveals that her journey of losing weight was beyond her physique. “If I reflect back now, I can see that there was a scarcity of emotional support in my life. And that drove me to eat emotionally and to be unconscious of my health.”
Furthermore, the actress reveals that when she was widely eulogized online and on camera, she still missed the feeling of being heard in the real world. “More often, I would sit with the thought that I do not matter. I reckon this was the reason I was so emotional with eating and careless of my health.”
Regardless, the actress has achieved the milestone and today she is healthier than she was ever before.
