Many people in the Hollywood industry these days are known to involve themselves in activities other than their actual work, whether that is wrestling, cooking, dancing, or making an album. What’s surprising is that quite a number of these famed stars have decidedly left Hollywood to get into the world of politics, and some have become greatly successful from it as well. Today, we have listed some celebrities who left Hollywood to pursue a career in politics instead.
Shirley Temple
It’s safe to say that the late Shirley Temple lived quite a life. Infamous for her acting in a handful of childhood films from the Great Depression era, Temple was also involved in professions as well, such as dancing and singing. Her career began when she was three years old. Within two years, the actress had achieved enough fame and praise to get a feature film made especially to portray her acting skills and talent. The name of the film was Bright Eyes. However, Shirley had a change of heart at the age of 22 and decided to take an entirely new career path; she dropped her position as an actress and spent the rest of her life doing public services.

Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner is no stranger in the media world. The 72-year-old media personality started her career as an Olympic decathlete and retired from that position as a gold-medalist. Jenner married three women who turned out to become highly successful; the last of which was Kris Jenner, with whom she had two daughters that are prominent figures in the Hollywood industry, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Jenner appeared on a reality television show called “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” along with his family and stepkids Kim, Kourtney, Kloe, and Rob Kardashian. It appears that Jenner is looking to walk toward a different path; the media personality announced in April of 2021 to be running for the position of Governor of California.
Donald Trump
Trump is very well known as the 45th president of the United States. However, some people might be surprised to hear that before getting into politics, the media personality started as the owner of a real estate business. Inheriting the family business in 1971, Trump became the owner of his father’s real estate business and renamed it The Trump Organization.
It appears that Trump found his way around the filming industry as well. The Apprentice was a reality show that Trump co-produced as well as hosted. He also made brief appearances in movies such as “Home Alone 2” and “Sex In The City.”
