Who is Lindsay Schweitzer?
In 2017, Eric began dating Lindsay Schweitzer, a nurse he met during a Big Slick charity event in Kansas City in 2016. After the announcement, their friends and family members greeted the couple, including Zachary Levi, Hillary Scott, Michael Bublé, Vernon Davis, Will Sasso, and Bethenny Frankel. Although the couple has usually been fairly tight-lipped regarding the details of their relationship, they shared the happy news on Aug. 22, 2021, that they are finally engaged.
The engagement was announced through an Instagram post in which the actor showed off his acting chops, displaying various emotions on the carousel. Schweiter was seen smiling as the pair posed for pictures while sitting at a table. The post was captioned, calling Lindsay “My people, ” his signature humor and wit to convey that the two are engaged.
Eric Stonestreet even spilled the beans about his then-girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer to Ellen DeGeneres while appearing on her show in 2017. Ellen joked that his girlfriend is a lovely person who will compliment Eric well since he is a hypochondriac. Lindsay Schweitzer, Eric Stonestreet’s fiance, is a pediatric nurse. Schweitzer attended the premiere of The Secret Life of Pets 2 in 2019, where Eric voiced the character of Duke.
Erik opens up about the proposal
The actor has a brilliant plan for his marriage proposal to the pediatrician. The star revealed how he tricked his bride into getting her hair and makeup done before popping the big question and letting her question the situation. In a recent interview, Eric shared that his fiance initially thought the whole thing was a joke since the actor used his comedic acts to ask her for marriage.
The ‘Modern Family’ star admitted Lindsay Schweitzer is often the target of his pranks, so he had to “do something special” when he popped the question last August, but she still wasn’t convinced he was being serious when he asked her to marry her, even though he enlisted her twin sons to help.
Since his production team and social media management team had been asking the couple to do an Instagram post together, Eric had Lindsay do her hair and makeup for that moment. He used Lindsay’s twin boys to go up to their mom and let her know that Eric had a big question to ask her. When he popped the big question, Lindsay asked him if it was real or a joke and then ultimately said yes and embraced each other.
