Virgin Voyages has announced an incredible new partnership with international film and music superstar, entrepreneur, and style icon Jennifer Lopez. In recent news, Jennifer Lopez announced to follow her artistic and social mission to empower, entertain and inspire; in order to achieve her aim, she announced her partnership and collaboration with Richard Branson.
She will be joining the game-changing cruise line as Chief Entertainment & Lifestyle Officer. In the announcement posted on Instagram, Richard sings a song on FaceTime, while suggesting her title could be ‘Jenny from the Dock’. They later settled on chief entertainment officer.
Virgin Voyages has been playing a different game
Virgin Voyages has a track record for challenging the status quo and is redefining the nautical tradition of appointing a godmother from a ceremonial role to a truly modern, change-making partnership with undoubtedly one of the most powerful artists in the world. Richard Branson’s epic new cruise line, Virgin Voyages, has always done things a little differently. And now they’re taking a new, modern approach to the nautical tradition of a Godmother for their ships.
Virgin Voyages launched its first adults-only cruise ship last year, called Scarlett Lady. This 278- feet-long vessel can accommodate 2,770 passengers, and holds the usual cruise amenities, including a pool deck, over its 17 decks, along with slightly less usual offerings, such as a tattoo parlor and pop-up entertainment events. It also includes multiple restaurants rather than one large dining hall with a buffet. Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady are pretty much identical, with their glitzy interiors, boutique-hotel vibe and multiple restaurants. The only real difference is their respective itineraries.
Furthermore, as Omicron wanes in Europe and the US, a confident corner has been turned. There’s been an uptick in bookings, he says, suggesting travelers are confident about cruises again. However, Virgin Voyages has implemented its own Covid safety protocol according to which everyone onboard Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady is required to be vaccinated, and the cruise line says it also tests guests before boarding.
JLo skincare to be available on the cruise
Jennifer Lopez, Richard Branson and Virgin Voyages have some big plans together. As an investor and advisor, she turns the godmother tradition on its head and makes it powerful and limitless. From sailor experience development, with an emphasis on wellbeing, to design collaborations and entertainment co-creations, all coming throughout 2022. Jennifer Lopez will be a fleet guardian unlike any in history.
And to kick things off with style and glamour, Virgin Voyages will be exclusively introducing JLo Beauty as part of the onboard offering, bringing Jennifer’s amazing products to the high seas for the first time. This isn’t the first time Virgin Voyages has used a little star power. Last year, the cruise line announced it would offer actor Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation American Gin on its ships, featuring the spirit in the gin cocktails onboard.
