The holidays are long gone, but you probably are already thinking about your next trip. You may have bookmarked many travel vlogs and blogs as inspiration and have checked flight prices for your destination.
For us average working people, vacations are usually simple and straightforward. It is considered a big bonus if the hotel we booked has an amazing spa and the free shampoo and shower gels come in cute containers.
However, for celebrities, since they have the money, they can choose the most expensive hotel and resort with the most ludicrous amenities. Idris Elba is one of them.
While most of us were wrapped in thick layers of jackets and coats or were busy making angels in the white snow last holiday, Idris was basking under the sun on the white sands of the Maldives.
\You might be thinking, well what is so special about that? Every celebrity goes to the Maldives.
Idris did not just book a famous hotel, he and his wife Sabrina stayed at a floating water villa from One&Only Reethi Rah. This accommodation is so exclusive that you need to cross a stilted path to reach it.
Since it’s above the water, views from inside the villa are expectedly breathtaking. It is located on the western part of one of the biggest islands in North Male Atoll, which boasts its rich aquatic features like the white sand, lagoons, and coral reefs that form rings.
Aside from the delicious fresh-from-the-sea delicacies, the cabana is inspired by Maldivian architecture with details borrowing from Balinese, which only makes the guests’ stay more authentic. While the outside is serene and blue, the interior is warm and comforting with the dark wood furnishings and accents.
If you feel that the amenities may be underwhelming or uncomfortable because of its local aesthetic, you may want to rethink that. That’s because the water home, which only has one room with a king-size bed that can accommodate two adults, provides an unobstructed view of the Indian Ocean, thereby making up for the simplicity of the design.
The villa also has a living and dining room, which are both blessed with the cerulean view. There is a relaxing bathtub in the premiere bathroom that will make you feel you are taking a bath in the ocean.
Aside from those amenities, you can also enjoy swimming on a 20-meter infinity pool if you ever get tired of the lagoon, which you have direct access to. You can get a nap on an outdoor hammock that swings over the water.
