Every artist aims for versatility, but only a few are able to master it. And Maya Rudolph is definitely one of them. She started her career as a backing vocalist and keyboard artist in the band “The Rentals” and rose to fame with NBC’s sketch comedy series, “Saturday Night Live.”
With her unbeatable comedy timing and entertaining roles in movies like Grown-Ups, Shrek the Third, and Bridesmaids, Rudolph won the fans’ hearts.
Quite recently, the 48-year-old gained the spotlight for purchasing a Sherman Oaks home for herself for a price tag of $2.6 million. Join us as we share more updates about the new house.
A quick look at the mansion’s history
The Sherman Oaks home has got quite a long list of ex-celebrity owners. It was first purchased in 2012 by Katherine Power, the founder of “Who What Wear,” for $1.2 million.
After owning the house for a few years, Power sold it to WandaVision actor, Kat Dennings who further sold the property to fashion designer Katherine Kleveland in 2016. Finally, now Kleveland has sold the dwelling for $2.6 million to Maya Rudolph. Phew!
A tour of the property
The walled property is located at the end of a quiet street and is free from trespassing or too much public eye. It spreads over 0.28 acres of land (approximately 2,810 sq. ft.), and comprises three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
First constructed in 1938, the estate has gone through lots of renovations, but its Tudor-style windows and arched doorways are still thriving.
The entrance leads to a gated driveway and then a lavender-linked walkway, and opens up to a white-walled living room. Decorated with a cathedral ceiling, an ebony fireplace, and a formal dining room, the living room looks spectacular.
Close to the living room is a modular kitchen outfitted with pristine quartz countertops, Viking appliances, and a white subway slab. Inline is the main suite boasting a wall full of built-in shelves and drawers and featuring an en suite bathroom with marble counters and wooden cabinetry.
Coming to the outdoor space, it features a backyard with stone-paved patios and a vine-covered arbor. FYI, the backyard is accessible from the family room through French doors, and inside is a corner dedicated to children, which has a wooden tree-house.
